Nonimmigrant Visa Waivers

This process allows certain immigration penalties to be waived for individuals seeking a nonimmigrant visa: tourist visa (B-1/B-2), student visa (F-1), work visa, or others.

Some of the grounds of inadmissibility that can be waived include: the 3- or 10-year bar for unlawful presence, fraud or misrepresentation before immigration authorities, and minor criminal records.

This type of waiver is different from the I-601/I-601A — it applies specifically to those seeking a temporary visa, not an immigrant visa or permanent residency.
